If you enroll your loved one in HOME 4 CARE, his/her caregiver will receive advanced training on dementia. These training courses are based on Hearthstone’s premier dementia training seminars that have been presented across the U.S. and in Australia, England, France, and more. Each training course is comprised of several videos, each one discussing a different section of the over-arching concept. These videos are designed to be fun and even a little silly, and are likely to be more engaging than a text-based training course. Click the PLAY button to see an example.

In the HOME 4 CARE video training, a variety of myths are discussed about dementia. In this video, one of the trainers, Drew Walker, discusses why it is NOT a great idea to take over right away when a person with dementia is having difficulty completing a task. At the end of each video, a Key Points slide that summarizes the main points of that section in one place. This will allow the caregiver to go back to these slides even after they have completed the course and refresh themselves on the information without watching the videos again.
Every training course has scenarios throughout that allow the caregiver to choose how they would respond to various situations and gives them a chance to help solve the problem. This helps him/her apply the training to real-world situations.
Each training course also features click and drag games that allow the caregiver to learn in a fun, interactive way.
